Slipping into the city was easy during the time of celebration. From all over, mechs and femmes were flooding to the city, all of them coming to pay tribute. The Knights guarding the entrance were too busy inspecting a wagon of ener-mead to notice him. No one noticed the cloaked figure who walked to bright roads of the great city. The streets were littered with drunken fools and singing maidens, all wishing the second Prince a happy spark-day and that Primus would watch over him forever.
The figure had no time for festivities.
He walked the streets silently as he could. He pushed away drunken fools who merely want to hug him. He shunned the maidens looking to woo him. He looked up at the towering palace of Iaconia.
She was there.
Waiting for him.
He made his way to the palace grounds where crowds had gathered to leave their gifts and offerings to the young Prince. From peasants to middle class nobles, they had all brought gifts for the young Prince.
There were so many that even the Knights of Iaconia had to be present to keep the crowds in order. Guards were all over, pushing away those who were trying to push in front. Some of them even barking orders with fierce tones, demanding that the citizens to be moved away from the square.
There was no way he could get into the palace without alerting the guards.
Walking round the area surrounding the palace he spotted something of interest.
Two guards were overseeing a delivery of food for the party and were busy inspecting the contents. They were even trying some out. It must have been the spot where deliveries were taken. The courier was checking off his list, promising the guards that everything he brought was top standerd.
He easily slipped past them and into the open doorway.
Once inside he cautiously navigated through the kitchens and the passageways without being seen. Maids and chefs ran about. Brewing ener-wine, preparing oil cakes and adding the final touches to their hor'dourves.
He moved fast but carefully, wanting to get to his destination.
"Hurry up and take up more wine! They're really downing it tonight!"
Just the head caterer ordering his mechs about.
He continued to creep through the palace, sneaking his way to the upper floors where the music and chatter was coming from.
Very soon he will have him.
He waited so long for this day.
The day Kitsuni would finally be his.
The sounds were getting louder. Not too far now. The lights were getting brighter. Soon he found himself on a balcony of sorts. Peering over he found he was in a giant ballroom where hundreds of mechs and femmes covered the floor. All of them unaware of their onlooker.
It truly was a magnificent party, he had to admit. Beautiful femmes wooed by handsome nobles. Knights boasting to each other about their adventures. Food decorated till it looked like pure art. Ener-wine that smelled so sweet it was intoxicating him. Music that played so gently yet strong it soothed the spark.
But none of that mattered.
It was who was sitting on the throne that had his full attention.
"At last...at long last."
He looked like her. He looked exactly like her. From the colour of his protoform to the shape of his face. It was almost identical. It was almost as if she had been resurrected into the petite form that sat on the over sized throne before his subjects.
His beautiful Kitsuni.
Reborn into that beautiful young child.
"I've waited so long for you Kitsuni! I've waited so long. Now the wait is finally over."
Until he was ready to snatch him away he would wait in the darkness.
